I had meant to have this posted the weekend after the run, but I misplaced one of the disposable cameras again and had a busy week. What do you guys care anyways right?!
The first run of 2k10 was a ravenous success. Any of you following us on facebook would have seen my worried messages about too many people showing up. I hate to tell anyone not to join us, but theres a limit to what BOND can safely handle. Looks as though some of you took the advice at least. We had a tie for largest turn out, with 75 confirmed heads.
As big as the turnout was, everyone (for the most part) was on their best behavior, and we kept things moving quickly and smoothly. I'd like to give a special thanks for all the drivers who cooperated with me in the very beginning of the night, and to everyone for their patience while we pre-planted the cars for the next maps. I think it worked out REALLY well, and I'm sure this will be the standard way we do it from now on.
Unfortunately, the game WAS shutdown in our third map due to the police. The story goes that the neighborhood was just recently burgled and all of the residents have been on edge. So the police weren't fucking around when they received their calls that night. But they didn't cause us too much trouble. I heard that one minor was taken home in the back of a black and white. But I saw one group of kids get let off with only a warning for having someone hanging out of their front passenger window. Luckily for us, the police weren't out for blood.
Also, some of us (me not included unfortunately) crashed our 3rd or 4th LMU party, and have some sweet pics to show for it.
All in all, it was a great way for me to start the year. Lots of new faces, and plenty of tales to tell. In February, I'll see you on the streets.
